At the Gharehkhani Research Lab, we advance innovation in sustainable materials for energy & environmental development. Led by Professor Samira Gharehkhani, our research focuses on developing value-added functional materials from lignin, cellulose, and other renewable resources, enabling applications in wearable electronics, micro-energy storage devices, sustainable packaging, and functional coatings. We are also dedicated to advancing engineering education and innovative teaching pedagogies that prepare future engineers to address sustainability challenges.
We collaborate with leading academic institutions, industry partners, and technology innovators to develop innovative sustainable products.
