Our research activities include:
- Designing advanced functional materials from sustainable resources such as micro-/nanofibrillated cellulose, lignin, and colloidal lignin particles.
- Engineering and characterizing biomass-derived carbon materials, including activated carbon, and heteroatom-doped carbons.
- Fabricating miniaturized energy storage devices (micro-supercapacitors, micro-batteries) using advanced visualization tools to study material structure and interfaces.
- Valorization of lignin and cellulose for use in packaging, coatings, and rheology-modifying applications.
- Advancing engineering education and sustainable engineering through innovative teaching and research practices.
